We thought it would be good to do a written post as well regarding phlebotomy.

With effect from 1st November 2021, the Phlebotomy Clinic at The Queen Victoria Hospital will be taken over by The Park Surgery. This Clinic will be for Park and Herne & Broomfield patients only. Appointments at the Phlebotomy Clinic can be booked online using the NHS App.(Downloadable from your App store) If you do not have the NHS App and would like to but are unsure how to download and use it, we may be able to help you. If this is the case, please email us at [email protected] and we will arrange for someone to contact you to help you set the App up. This is a very useful App to have. Not only will you be able to book blood tests on here but you will be able to book some of your other appointments at the Practice and also order your repeat medication using this. If you wish to read more about the NHS App, please follow this link https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/If you are unable to book your appointments in this way or do not wish to download the App, please contact the Practice on 01227 742568 after 10 a.m. Monday to Friday to speak to one of our Receptionists who will be able to book an appointment for you. You will no longer need to take a blood form to the Phlebotomy Clinic as this has been set up to be done electronically. Blood tests requested by the hospital – if you have the form and are registered with us you can book your appointment through the NHS App or by calling us as above. Please note this is not a walk in service – blood tests are by appointment only. Blood tests at the Clinic will only be done for those patients who have been asked to have one – please do not book an appointment yourself because you think you are due a blood test as you will be turned away at the clinic as the Phlebotomists will not have the necessary information required in order to carry out the test.

All Heron patients should contact the Heron Practice in order to book their blood test appointments.
